Epigenetics?

An unremarkable white geranium flower … but its mother was pink. I broke off a few pieces of geranium about a week ago and pushed them into pots. None of the parent plants had white flowers, and this definitely hasn’t grown from seed. I did a bit of a search, and the best explanation I could find was epigenetics in action, switching genes on and off. It will be interesting to observe whether it reverts to the original or stays white.
