Swim collage
A heart lifting swim in the North Sea. Warm sunshine (out of the sneaky wind) and just enough swell to keep you honest. I forgot my goggles, but I know the environment out there well enough not to feel bothered by not seeing too well. The photos, taken on the phone in a dry pouch, capture it well. I was grateful to L (on her birthday!) for the lift. A was not around as she is in Sweden. Plenty of other familiar faces, plus a few people I'd not met (much) before. A great way to start Sunday.
This came on top of a pretty good sleep. Long, if not uninterrupted. But fewer coughing fits than previous nights. I definitely feel on the mend. Still wheezing but it's tolerable.
I got out in the garden for an hour or so in the afternoon. I didn't try to do too much as I know I'm not quite at par as yet, and so it would have been easy to overdo it. A fair number of weeds came out of the flower beds and I did deploy some chemical solutions in places where they seem intractable. We're ready for Mr A to do his bit with the power washer round the back now, on the concrete. It was last done in May 2023 (I checked).
Once more a beer in the late afternoon sunshine in the back, before we came back inside for an excellent tortilla made by Mr A, which included a few of our fresh herbs. The herb garden does need a bit of work in the back, but many of the plants have survived the winter and are now starting to thrive, especially the chives!
By 7pm, I was falling asleep on the sofa. I think that's just a signal that I need the rest.
