Penarth Flutterby!
This morning our darling daughters went off for a week camping with Pontypridd Christian Youth down to Pembrey in West Wales. They have been attending this youth group for many years now and their annual camping trip at Pembrey always produces much excitement.
So now, me and hubby have got the place to ourselves for the whole week! Woohoo!! What to do?!!!! Don't get me wrong, we will miss them hugely! Honest!!! The house is soooo quiet without them!
As it was another gorgeous day; me and hubby chose to head down to Penarth as we haven't been down there for ages. It was lovely down there, sun was shining and there wasn't a breath of wind at all. We couldn't get over how much has changed on the esplanade. One of the old buildings that used to house Chandlers restaurant and bar, Tony's Cafe and the infamous Rabaoittis has been almost demolished and will eventually be converted into this!! Tres posh!!!!
The pier is still in the process of being restored so couldn't take photos of the whole structure as didn't particularly want scaffolding and hoarding in the shot!! As you can see from this shot, quite a lot of people were enjoying the sunshine on the pier. Particularly these two ladies!!!! I think the elder of the two has spent many an hour in the sun!!!!!!!!!!
There was even a brass band playing. They were the Oakdale Silver brass band and very good they were too!
I have been dying to get a good shot of a butterfly for weeks now and thanks to the flowers in the Esplanade gardens, I managed to capture this Cabbage White. At last!
Enjoy your weekend everyone x
