Behind the cathedral
Richard dropped me off in the city centre, to help with taking down the Photo Society exhibition. This was quite a companionable exercise, with a big group of us sharing the work. To my surprise I've had a request from someone who visited the exhibition to buy one of my prints, so that definitely feels like a bonus.
R came back to pick me up afterwards, and I waited in the sunshine on the street behind the cathedral. This network of streets has had a lot of solicitors' offices in it in the past, and some are still there. I was intrigued by this cafe, Korean I think (I checked some of the writing on Google Translate, being deeply ignorant about Korean and Chinese scripts). Both local universities have relied heavily on international students over the last 10-15 years, and there's been a corresponding shift in the local businesses. These days international student recruitment is falling, which is one reason why both universities are now making staff redundant. It was always a bit of an economic 'bubble'...
There wasn't time to go in and sample anything in the cafe this morning, but I hope to go back another day.
