Flying
Went over to Sherburn to the flying club so that Ivan could do an hour with an instructor so that he is “current” again and can take the club planes out with passengers once more. The last few months have meant he’s done very little for ages what with the competing demands of family, the house and various illnesses. He is so very happy to be airborne again.
The deal was we would go out for lunch across the road at a rather peculiar establishment, The Motorist.
Our ancient Skoda took its place in the car park alongside the Aston Martins. Inside as well as a shop, a restaurant and a cafe is a small collection of cars and motorbikes. Every petrolhead’s delight and you can get your car serviced too.
The menu was limited but the food was good and we came home via Cawood and various villages North of Selby.
The sun shone and spirits were lifted.
