The FedEx operative might just have been leaning down to put the box on the front doorstep whilst they prepared to ring the doorbell or knock the door but I was fortunately working in the room overlooking the front door and was on my way to intercept it as it's the worst sort of parcel to have left unannounced on a doorstep, or left underneath a plant pot on a balcony.
