Dolly's Day

Bug on a flower

Spent some time this morning trying to get through to a company on the phone but it was impossible.  I had to input a number which corresponded with my query, then another number and then another.  After I put in the last one it went back to the beginning.  Tried a few times and got nowhere,  Ended up choosing a different reason for calling just to see if I could speak to someone.... but I was on hold for ages so I gave up. Such a waste of time.    I will just have to try and e mail them instead.

I had a wander down to the village this afternoon.  The weather was lovely --- warm and sunny.  I went down the back lane through the allotments.  There a quite a few wild flowers out now and its a pleasant walk down there.  Did the usual shopping in Tesco and Herons.

I got my blip shot as I was walking home. The flower is Lesser Celandine.  There are loads of them in the back lane. Not sure what the bug is... maybe some kind of moth.  Thanks to steveng for hosting Mono Monday - the theme is " The Natural World. "

Got on with a few jobs before having my evening meal - chicken, potatoes and lots of veg.

Around 7.30pm I got my laptop out to get ready to watch the footie.  Newcastle had an away match at Leicester.  I don't use the laptop much - just to watch the footie.  It turned on OK but then a message appeared saying that the battery wasn't an " official " one and then it turned itself off.  Tried a few more times .. same  message and then switching off again.  Couldn't understand it as the battery is the same one its always had which came with the laptop and has worked fine .. until today.  Anyway I took the battery out... put it back in.... switched laptop back on... and it worked perfectly.  How strange.

Luckily I managed to get it sorted before the 8pm kick off.  By 8.02pm Newcastle had scored their first goal. Jacob Murphy was the goalscorer.  And he scored again after 11 mins.  Then on the 34th minute Harvey Barnes got Newcastle' s 3rd goal. No more goals so the final score was Leicester 0 Newcastle 3.  Leicester were poor.  They are second bottom of the Premiership table and set for relegation so it wasn't surprising that Newcastle were able to beat them.
