It was another beautiful day with endless sunshine and the wind was not too bad. I worked in the garden clearing a lot of overgrown plants and weeding and transplanting. There seem to be a lot of ladybirds which I carefully relocated so they would not go into the garden bin with the weeds. A white butterfly flew past and several peacock butterflies, or perhaps the same two returning, fed on flowers.
In the afternoon we had a short walk beside Cranston Church and around the grounds of Oxenfoord Castle marvelling at the expanses of daffodils and even saw some late snowdrops. We watched two black pheasants with their feathers looking iridescent in the sunlight and saw some enormous trees which had been uprooted earlier this year. Everywhere was the joyful sound of numerous birds.
