Of Course

Of course the elbow connecting the drain to the drain pipe was broken. 

Of course it’s in a crawl space at the back of the house where there is maybe 14 inches of space. 

And of course there is a loop of Romex electrical cable directly under the leaking drain. 

So, here’s the simple reality of this hundred year old house: if there was a right way and a wrong way do do something, a previous tradesman found a third, bat-shit crazy way to do it. Or maybe it’s just laziness crossed with common incompetence.
