The Pensioner

The ex-starting hut

A morning visit to the beach by the daughter and nippers. The SK brought coffees and the rug over. But I could only stay a short while as there was a work party to attend to. Important business: out round the harbour re-positioning a couple of errant buoys. A grand day for it. But then I’d to rush - for there was an early (2:30pm) k.o. up at Tynecastle.
Thanks to the results yesterday, a win today would see us guaranteed a top six place before the split. There are downsides to this of course: being self-evidently the weakest team in that mini-league could also guarantee us five fixtures getting our arses well spanked.
As it was, it was all a bit academic. Man sent off (James Wilson of all people) and Dundee Utd scoring with their only shot on target. It’s still in our hands quoth Rog… a win next Saturday will guarantee us a top six place, he chirped. Strewth.
