Orange flowers

A bit short of photo opportunities today, but I was determined not to miss another day like yesterday (fell asleep in the evening before taking anything again, woke after midnight).

These orange flowers flourishing in the weeds of my garden were given to me by my cousin nearly 30 years ago (I think), and I used to know what they were called.

Unfortunately the iPhone camera isn't built for close-ups and while this looked OK on the phone screen, once transferred to the iPad the main flowers were blurry. So I tried iPhoto's sharpen brush just on the flowers, to no great avail, and ended up putting it through Photoforge2's Lomo filter in an attempt to rescue it

It was either this or a rather uninteresting cloudscape, so this won, mainly due to the colours!

Though the highlight of my day has been my boyfriend's dance group winning a prize at the National Eisteddfod. I came close to blipping a screenshot from the TV coverage but decided that would probably break more rules than you could shake a stick at! Unfortunately I wasn't there to take any photos of my own!
