The Imperial Palace

It was all hands on deck to get to the Imperial Palce by 9am in the hope we'd get tickets to visit it the same day, and lucky for us it worked out. A guided tour around the grounds with some impressive views of the towers and city skyscrapers. Next up was to get across town to catch up with G, S, M & C Ueno Park which had museums, blossoms, a lake, a shrine pagoda and a zoo! It was then a walk to the Senso-ji Temple which we visited in 2018, some light shopping for the kids, dinner at a Japanese BBQ and off the kids went for 2 hours on their own while we went back for drinks near our hotels. It was a fond farewell to our fellow travellers, lovely to meet up with them for a few days, but off we head west tomorrow...
