PRIZES

I sorted out some boxes of books to take to charity and secondhand shops and there were a couple that made me wonder why I'd held on to them until I looked inside and remembered that they were prizes to beloved C and myself way back when, a long time before we met. I can't remember anything about the competition that earned me my prize. The book is Watercolour Painting by Adrian Hill, but I can't imagine that I could have done anything remotely artistic to merit it. It must have been presented to me on my last day at the school because a month later we arrived in Singapore where we stayed for over three years and my memories went from black and white to full colour. In any case, the books are staying for the time being.
