Along the Eden

DIY is back in the forefront at the moment.. Boarding out the loft in an effort to get some garage space back.. 
A short stroll today down the River Eden, I donned my camo trousers and a dark top, hoping for some incognito nature shots.  Jess came along in a canary yellow jumper and a pair of white trousers ! :-) 
Anyway, Jess is a better spotter than me, immediately finding 2 mating Tortoiseshell butterflies (one refused to open her wings for a shot) then a Grey Heron and Little Egret at the waters edge.
I attempted a bit of stalking with limited success (a pair of mallards raised the alarm) , the Heron took off and wheeled away but the Little Egret decided it was safe with a bit of extra height and retreated to a tree.
I liked this shot with the breast plumage which they develop in the breeding season.
