More blue sky
It didn’t feel as cold this morning as we headed off to a colleague to collect the CP van but…. on arrival I didn’t have the van key, it is only two miles but annoying, anyway we returned a few minutes later and John left me chatting. Afterwards a visit to the shop and back home to make a start on a brandy brac - soaking the fruit, I couldn’t use Johns Old Pulteney, 12 year old whisky for those in the know, but did have some Grand Marnier, hence a brandy version. On a whim I made Paul Hollywoods Hot Cross buns, we agree they are the best HC buns we have made, apart from the flour paste cross, I usually don’t bother, it adds nothing to the taste. The recipe is straight forward, using yeast, I might try a sourdough version another time. An enjoyable day pottering inside and out.
