I Witness

Tiny Tuesday ...

... Dry.

I would say that most people think lizards ... or in this case a Skink ... are wet and slimy.  But in fact they are very dry ... and live in dry environments.  We saw this lovely five-lined skink while at the Cradle of Forestry in Pisgah National Forest, NC.   Thanks to Incredibish for hosting Tiny Tuesday in April.

After breakfast at the motel we headed back out to Franklin Park to see if we could find any more white squirrels.  And as you can see by the first Extra we found some.  In fact, this one pictured in the same sweet, friendly female that I posted yesterday.  She really is the sweetest squirrel we have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

After spending about an hour at Franklin Park taking way too many pictures we returned to the motel to pack up the car and check out.

From there we drove the short distance to the Pisgah National Forest.  There are some lovely waterfalls here as well as the Cradle of Forestry.  First stop was Looking Glass Falls and then it was on to the Cradle of Forestry ... which offers several walking trails.  My second Extra is a collage of two butterflies and an Eastern Bluebird that we saw along the way.  The butterflies are an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail and a rather tiny Spring Azure.
