Picnic in Alice Park
We sat here on a bench for our picnic today in the beautiful Alice Park. It’s just below where the family live so a great place to visit especially with bikes and scooters. The bench was sheltered so warm in the sun but there has been a coolness today despite the sun.
The girls rode their bikes, had their picnic and then we went to the cafe for a milk shake and Grace and I got something to eat. The normally sheltered outside eating area was acting a bit like a wind tunnel so we took our things to one of the tables in the play area where it was sunnier and where the girls played once they’d finished.
Back on the bikes to visit the pond to look for frogspawn/ tadpoles but nothing to be seen and then the girls sought out the climbing trees. Eda is pretty good at climbing.
There are lots of blossom trees about to break forth into flower and a new row of Cherry blossoms that have been recently planted. They were planted by the local council to represent the close relationship with the City of Bath and Japan.
It’s a fabulous park and a great asset to have on their doorstep.
Meanwhile Chris has stayed at home cutting the grass before the green bin collection tomorrow.
The girls are chilling with a bit of screen time before this evening when Chris and I will take Eda to the theatre and watch her show. We’re enjoying the warmth of the sun on Grace’s sun trap terrace.
