Wednesday: Flower Buds and Seedlings

Another dry and sunny day, but it had started off cloudy and chilly, chilly breeze all day off the sea but ok on the sheltered side of the house.

MrD on deliveries all day and finished mid afternoon - just in time for coffee :-))

I finished off potting on “Jersey Walking Stick Kale”, “Wild Sea Cabbage”, pricked out early salad seedlings into larger trays of cells, watered many of the pots and made sure there was fresh water for the birds to drink and splash in! The birds have slowed down on eating the sunflower hearts as insects and other natural food becoming available. Saw a small white butterfly the other side of our wall, being blown further away :-((

This afternoon I watched a couple more episodes of “The Madame Blanc Mysteries” I’d run out of energy …

Today’s Blip:
Chaeonomeles (Japanese Quince)
Seedlings of Chicory “Rosa di Trevino”
Flower buds on Dwarf Apple tree “Sunset Red” which is looking ok after being repotted last month - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3350203747287436491

ADDED LATER: whilst looking for something interesting to watch I happened upon “Great British Railway Journeys” Series 16 episode 1 - Paddock Wood to Frant on iPlayer - https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0029ssx - presented by Michael Portillo and absolutely fascinating :-)
