Walk with friends
An early start for Mr PHL who is definitely not a morning person, as we were meeting a couple of friends for a walk at Dalkeith country park at 10. It was a lovely sunny day albeit a bit chilly but we had a lovely walk with Phin before a coffee at the outdoor tables. It was lovely to catch up.
More crochet in the afternoon before an interesting talk about ESOL at our weekly Rotary meeting. ESOL is essentially TEFL ie teaching English as a foreign language but to adults who wish to learn English as students of other languages. Often they may speak their own language but may not be able to read or write it and tend to come from the likes of Syria, Rwanda and Ukraine.
Students can study at various levels and the learning can be online, in a classroom or on a one to one basis. The college which runs the courses relies on volunteers and it sounds a very rewarding thing to be involved in.
Thanks to incredibish for hosting TinyTuesday. I fancied a bowl of cereal for my late night supper!
