Low tide

I was going to blip a Tain doorway today. I was all set. I went out at lunchtime for a wander and photographed a few candidate doorways. But later on, the sun came out and I went for a swim at Shandwick Bay, led by L and others. It was glorious, but super crispy, and rather bouncy so actual swimming was tricky even though it was attempted. My ears filled with water and it's hard to clear them again. Normally, when it's due to be so choppy, I wear ear plugs to avoid precisely that scenario, but I've got out of the habit.... Anyway, this view of the Moray Firth with a rig in the far distant haze is unbeatable to my eyes. No doorway can compete.

The swim was the perfect antidote to a day of work, mostly comprising quite a few meetings of varying degrees of aggravation, although I did manage to spend a bit of time in the garden as well. For the record, because it has been so dry I did water the front garden (as well as advancing the weeding project slightly), which is perhaps the harbinger of some rain, although there's no sign of it on the forecast. I particularly worry not only about the pots, but also about the upper level, which has a rather thin soil covering.
