At last we have had a day without rain. I've caught up with some of the washing and done a bit of ironing in preparation for the week ahead. Awful way to spend such a nice day really, particularly as I think it's due to rain big time (again) tomorrow, but it needed done.

The guy in the photo could also do with a bit of spit and polish. We bought him in an second hand shop in Aberdeen several years ago for a tenner. It took ages with a dremmel to get rid of the build up of verdigis and black tarnish, but he did polish up nicely.

Now he sits on our front door, ostensibly to alert us to the presence of visitors, but in reality all he oversees is the large number of weeds that have sprung up on the path as a result of the rain. What a come down for such a regal lion. No wonder he looks so forlorn!
