Mont St Michel

We had the absolutely perfect weather to visit Mont St. Michel today!  Early this morning we anchored off the port of Saint-Malo in Brittany, and shortly thereafter took a bus to Mont St. Michel -- a place we have only seen from a distance until today.

It is certainly a breathtaking sight, and also breathtaking after you have mounted the 350 steps from the base of the town to the abbey at the top!  Well worth the climb, both for the fascinating history and architecture and for the stunning, ethereal views from on high. It was very crowded there, but I think it is always that way, and probably a little less so now than in peak season later on in the summer.  (See extras).
