Lapakisto nature reserve

Kalliojärvi lake in the picture.

It was a great walk. For me. P is over 20 years younger than me. She wanted to go to this area as she's never been there. I said sure. I said it's gonna be about 10km and take water with you.

She did not. After 2 km she said it was a mistake. She did not think the terrain would be that demanding.

I'm pretty sure she thought that as I'm so much older than her, that she could tag along with me easily. She could not. Usually I do this walk in a bit over 2 hours. Today we took our time and walked with the rests for 3 hours. She barely made it to the car park.

I asked her couple of hours later how she's doing. She said she's walking like a granny.

I WIN!  :-D

Never underestimate people by their age. :-;

I 'm not 100% saying that it was a win. But I hope you get my point with some humor. It's quite funny and rewarding to see that even with my knee trouble and all that, I can still take over 20 years younger woman for a walk that really "wipes her out" :-D.

She did love the scenery and we will go again. And for that I'm so happy for.

Myself, I feel that the 3 hours in the woods with only sounds of nature, did so much good. It was just the thing for me.

The white in the picture is ice on the lake. Tonight we'll get some 10cm of fresh snow. It could be chaos in the morning or not. I hope not. But I didn't take a gig for tomorrow morning as I would not sleep tonight being afraid what the morning could look like. The road to the farm is horrible even on a bright sunny day, so with 10-20cm of fresh snow it would be hell. There was only a morning shift available. So no. Not for me. Not this time. I feel bad about that, but the only decision I was able to make. Also told my husband to stay at our son's place to safer tomorrow.

It was a cold day today. -4°C with strong wind. But lovely sunshine. Wonderful day for a walk.
