A Cheeky Gull! (And some surfers)
After the lovely sun we've been having for a while disappeared behind clouds yesterday, the weather today recovered and was more like June than April - there was wall-to-wall blue sky and sunshine, and it was quite warm too (for the NE coast anyway). So we took the Metro to Whitley Bay and walked to Tynemouth for the Metro home. Naturally we just had to have delicious fish & chips for lunch looking over the sea. Hard to beat!
My main blip is the very cheeky seagull which hung around very close to us, looking very hopeful while we ate. Fortunately we managed to avoid it making off with half our lunch although my Editor (against my advice!) felt sorry for it and did give it a few crumbs of batter when she'd finished.
The extra shows a very competent grown-up on his surfboard, surrounded by some children who didn't quite manage the task as well as he did.
After we got home we had fun looking through the Silly Saturday entries from last weekend. Thanks so much to all you lovely blippers who gave us a bumper set of silly blips to look through and chuckle at, just like Admirer used to enjoy doing. They all raised a giggle, but here's our choices which on this occasion gave us the biggest chuckles:
Hearts (in no particular order):
Sofiavillanueva for young T hiding from the visitors
Pkln for a penny-farthing rider who's been overdoing on the Ozempic
Stiffknees for a brainy canine reaching up to adjust the tv
JohnRH for Edam cheese which is madE backwards
MaryElizaR for Silly Sally Sasquatch after her spa day
Honourable Mentions:
KangaZu for some really silly cars
Bibba for "Gone Fishing"
Hanulli for some Haute Couture du Jardin for Teba and Caspar
Dollydoug for a daft duck to celebrate Newcastle United's win in the Carabao Cup (hurray!)
Welshmaid50 for Teddy Titchmarsh
The next hosted Silly Saturday challenge will as usual be on the the first Saturday of next month (3rd May). Currently I only have volunteer hosts for July and September this year, so if you'd like to host any of the other months please let me know - it's great fun!
