Hen camp

DEFRA are now insisting that all keepers of birds, be they one budgie or twenty hens, must register. Now they can email me with orders to keep all birds separated from wild ones. 
We decided to buy a proper frame cage this time, instead of cobbling something together like we did last time. It went together rather well, given that it’s on an uneven slope!
The hens obliged by going in when offered grated cheese, and we slammed the door on them! They will not be pleased tomorrow when they realise that there’s no going into the orchard looking for worms any more. And they will soon run out of grass. I hope it doesn’t rain or it will become a morass.
