Heck E Thump.
GOTCHA?!?
I seem, lately, to have a fixation on things in flight. There were quite a few this size wee beasties; some of which were UNarguably Hoverflies &/or Bee flies, as I don't know how the the latter behave.
However, whatever they are/were I doubt their wing beats are vastly different from those of a honey Bee; which "flaps" this fast "Honeybees, for example, can beat their wings a staggering 190 to 230 times per second – that’s over 13,000 wing beats per minute!" You'd think, at 1/2000 it'd be fast enough to catch a wing, wouldn't you? - BUT - I suppose the other option is - I caught a wing but, due to angle of view we are looking along a wing "end on"
This unco-operative beasty was my best chance. I focused on the Dandelion and waited - eventually - I WON.
