Tiger's Big Adventure
This morning started out with me getting out Tigers leash and Tiger recognizing that he is about to go somewhere. Even before I got his harness on, when I opened his carrier, he went right inside. About 10 miles from home he started meowing a lot so I stopped at a store and tried to let him out in case he needed the restroom – he looked around and got right back in the car.
First stop was a park where Tiger could get out, walk around and sniff everything he wanted to. We stayed there about 15 minutes before Tiger headed back to the car.
Second stop was to let Tiger see my dad. Although Tiger never knew him, I had two cats growing up and it was my dad both times that let me know when something happened to them. I also want to let him know, I finally got another cat. After putting Tiger back in the car, I went back to see my dad for the other reason I went - to let him know that the only house he had ever owned was being sold to take care of mom’s medical conditions That’s when I lost it. I haven’t cried like that in a very long time knowing how hard my parents worked for that house, how they kept it up, and…
Third stop was a 123 year old bakery… Four generations of family that I know of have stopped there for treats. I picked up one vanilla cake doughnut for the park and Tiger got another walk.
Fourth stop was Nolte State Park. Five generations of family and a couple of dogs have picnicked here but now add a cat. Tiger seemed to have a good time here walking all over the main park. I did find it a bit funny that when a big dog came within view, Tiger got as low to the ground as possible – like trying not to be seen but when a small dog was around, he seemed very curious about them.
Fifth stop was Lake Wilderness Park – a place where a cousin, sister and I worked at different times as a summer job. It was here that Tiger finally tried to chase a duck. Why? Who knows but of course I didn’t let him. Tiger also tried to get into every nook and cranny he could find. He even walked out on a log over the water – the only time I never tugged on the leash not knowing or wanting to find out if Tiger could swim. Oh if the leash was longer, it seems he would have gone to the end of the log – with no fear.
Sixth stop and final place was Costco where I needed a few things. Of course being cool outside, windows down a few inches all around and.. Tiger stayed in the car. He was happy when I got back but he slept in his carrier all the way home. I sure hope he had a good day too..
The main photo is Tiger watching a squirrel on a tree across the stream. Going from top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right – first collage – at home, stopping to eat the grass, enjoying the scenery and hiding from the big creatures (dogs). The second collage – Tiger and I at the bakery, Tiger at Nolte State Park, Tiger watching anything that moved, Tiger found a hiding spot in a log. The last extra is Tiger, my dad and I.
A great day. Back to work tomorrow
