Oyster Recovery

My husband worked at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science in Cambridge today. I rode along with him to keep him company on the long drive. While he was working, I walked around the campus on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay and found a fascinating Oyster Recovery hatchery. The shells in the foreground will be cleaned and aged for a year before being ground up for the oyster larvae to latch onto while they grow.
The first extra is of the pier with the barrels of maturing oysters getting ready to be transferred to boats to go out into the bay.
My second extra is from Franklin Park in Shadyside. We stopped there to complete a Cache Across Maryland letterbox cache. It felt good to stretch my legs after the long ride.
