The V&A Village Fete

Like a Women's Institute Jamboree organised by The League of Gentlemen , the Victoria and Albert Museum's annual event is a summer essential for forty-somethings with kids. Where Iggy Pop belts out of the tannoy and kids can paddle in the pool.

On the way I walked across Hyde Park to visit Jeff Koon's lobster at the Serpentine. A big fan of lobsters generally, these guys are cast in aluminium to look like their rubber counterparts. There are shoals of gallery assistants standing around to chat and ask you (in the nicest possible way), not to touch them... it's so tempting.
