Gunnera

As I crossed the bridge over the stream to take Bertie for his afternoon constitutional, I noticed that the gunnera was poking its head above ground level. At the moment it is just about 20cm tall but eventually it will be about a metre tall with leaves almost as wide. It makes an interesting feature on the wild side of the stream.
It was another beautiful day so I had another fulfilling day in the garden. Nick and John spent the afternoon on tree work which was very thirsty work so at 5.00pm they sat out in the garden in the sunshine with a cold beer each - not a habitual event and certainly a first for April!
