... one of six Art Deco relief panels on the former Commercial Bank of Scotland building on Bothwell Street in Glasgow. The bank was designed in 1934 by architect James Miller with the panels sculpted by Gilbert Bayes and carved by Joseph Armitage.
Thought I would post this today as I received my coy of the recently published book by Bruce James entitled Art Deco Scotland: Design and Architecture in the Jazz Age. A great book on the subject. (Although I have found 2 photos wrongly labelled).
There's also an exhibition at The Glasgow School of Art to accompany the book. Must get to see it.
The other 5 panels are ... Justice, Wisdom, Prudence, Industry and Commerce.
Across the road on the Scottish Legal Life building there are 4 more art deco panels representing Industry, Prudence, Thrift and Courage ( see extra)
