If you can't beat them...

Lungwort ( Pulmonaria officinalis )

Another day round home limited in what I can do until the stiches are out and I have been given the OK.  The garden yielded a number of possible blips and one or two possibles for the future.

I settled on this Pulmonaria.  It is unusual in having both red and blue flowers on the same plant sometimes even on the same stem.  There were stems that had both coloured flowers but I preferred this shot.  The name pulmonaria is from the latin pulmo - lung.  In the middle ages the plant was used to treat coughs and chest complaints.  This was because they believed that if a plant had some resemblance to part of the body it could be sued to treat it.
