Timaru's Basilica

An afternoon of two halves. A friend and set off to go for a walk in the gardens. On the way we called to see her brother who is the priest at the local catholic basiliica. He had been busy putting ferns in the church for Palm Sunday so we went for a look . It really is the most beautiful church so couldn’t resist a few pics while we there
I had said to a friend this week if Jesus was to ride through NZ on a donkey it would be ferns that were strewn in his path as we don’t have many palms. So it was interesting to see Father Chris decorating with ferns
I am leading the service at church tomorrow and we are going to put ferns around
We then went for a walk through the Botanical Gardens such a lovely time of year. See extra. Probably much better pics on my camera but haven’t downloaded them yet
Such a pleasant afternoon even though it’s been a very grey day, not a glimpse of sun
