Toni expressing a little surprise at her birthday cake when the waiter arrived with it. She is 87 today and had organised a birthday breakfast for a few friends, Liam was a notable absence from the table. She is still full of life and energy and an active member of the Grannies Against the Far Right group. It was lovely to see her and be there, in the extras :she talks about the tension she and her mother felt when American troops arrived in Kassel in 1945 when she was 6 : a German song and a toast in the grounds of the beautiful and extensive Schloss and Bergpark.
