Between fen and mountains

The new kitchen

We arrived back from Spain having stopped off to buy a couple of things from Decathlon and do some food shopping at le Grand Frais. We had our picnic by the river on the way back. It was nice to see the kitchen finished and ready to use. The sink that arrived cracked and the taps should be replaced this week. When we got home, we found that the banister rail down the steep stone steps to our basement was broken. The electrician who finished his work while we were away had slipped and grabbed the rail which broke in his hand and he took a heavy fall down the steps. He came to deliver the key and told me all about it. He was fortunate not to be badly hurt but got away with a cut and bruises. He kindly offered to fix the rail but pointed out that the one in place was probably never meant for a banister so I will look for something more substantial. I went along to the bell ringing practice and joined a visiting group of 22 ringers who have come over from the UK this weekend to ring.
