The first really hot day, from the get-go (I really HATE that inane phrase, and even hate writing it). NO breeze. As we sat in the front garden, Hazel and CT popped by. JR went to two sessions at the local gym, so was somewhat peeved that her step count wasn't as huge as usual.
Elizabeth took Archie out for a big walk, with lots of paddles, in the Hermitage.
We decided to walk along the road to a huge lighting place, in an old church. Haven't been there for ages, but it's great - not just lights, but furniture too and lots of quirky pieces. But we found the one we wanted.
We then popped in to the little cafe next door. Good coffees, and a very nice 'hot cross bun scone', with a fresh home made rhubarb and pear jam... (Extra). Then we popped in to the pub next door to the cafe, I’d never noticed it before, but it had elephants hanging outside. And elephants everywhere inside. We had a half pint of lager, because the barman was really friendly - even put the godawful muzak off, though I just requested a change... we were the only people there, so why not.
A pleasant walk back home, then JR walked to Waitrose to get her favourite low cholesterol spread. I sat out the back for a while, but it had clouded over by then, so it was easier to settle inside, and continue watching an odd little programme called 'The Change' on Ch 4.
