Tay reed beds

These are the most extensive continuous reed beds in the UK and take up a similar area to 400 max size rugby pitches. They are home to some fairly rare birds though, unfortunately, we didn't see any - but did see a number of less rare species. You can see the size of the reeds in the extras and also a Lady's Smock/Cuckoo Flower of which there were several patches.
This morning our parkrun was cancelled due to unauthorised occupation of the park getting in the way so several of us headed to Forfar for a pleasant run round the loch. Breakfast followed and then a few jobs once back home.
As this is likely to be the last really nice day for now we opted for the walk down by the river to make the most of it. It was very hot and humid for the section actually among the reeds.
