Poodle Pedi
This poodle was decked out in lots of bling, but my favorite part, and the only thing I could really capture here was her toenails, (surely she is a she). She was wearing a sign that said she was a 'Companion Dog' which I thought was questionable, but those are the only dogs that are allowed in the Farmers' Market and nobody seemed to mind. She was very well behaved and did stay very close to her person, which is why I had trouble getting a better shot.
Aren't all dogs companion dogs? I don't think Spike would be
a) all that well behaved, or
b) let me paint his toenails. Even if he would let me it would be pretty odd looking since his easty-westy feet each have one toenail almost on top.
We had been hearing wood chipping all afternoon and went out in search of the source. We could hear it but were unable to see where it was coming from other than the fact that it seemed to be on the other side of the creek. We encountered a neighbor who told us that
someone has purchased the farm/vineyard at the bottom of our street which stretches up the hill on the other side of the creek. Apparently he is clearing land for more vineyard. We agreed that it seemed a risky venture
in today's...economic uncertainty seems a bit tame for what it really is, but I'm not going there today.
The house across the street from them has been vacant, save for a tenant in the attached rental unit for 6 months. The woman who lived there was whisked off to a care home and apparently her children can't agree on what to do with the house. We discussed getting her front yard mowed before the house disappears completely behind the chest high grass.
We were hoping someone was addressing the growing logjam which now stretches almost all the way across the creek, but there's been no action there unless you count the fact that the creek is almost totally blocked now. It's difficult to capture in a photo, but I'm putting it in extras just for comparison purposes.
Pretty exciting neighborhood news on a lovely spring day of perfect weather.
