Hebden Bridge

We needed to go to Mytholmroyd this evening for a competition between camera clubs, so we decided to set off mid afternoon and have a wander around Hebden Bridge first.

The journey over took us about an hour, and was mostly a challenge because of temporary traffic lights.  The first set appeared stuck on red.  We'd seen cars ahead of us go through on red but didn't know whether they were just chancing it.  We waited our turn for a couple of minutes before the van behind gave up and went around us.  We followed him through - seems they were stuck on red on both sides.

The next set we encountered weren't on at all, but it was still single file traffic.  At least we could see the other end!

We had a good wander by the river and canal, and then bought a pizza.  We drove towards Mytholmroyd a bit, and stopped at the side of the road to eat it.  We then drove on, had a bit of a wander and a look at the flood defences, before our event started.

We had an enjoyable evening - the judge had some good comments about the images.  We came home eighth on the night, giving us an overall placing of seventh for the four event season.  We'll have to try and do better next year.

We decided on a simpler route home avoiding the country lanes and got back just before 11pm.
