Police incident

Long run Sunday again.

Down to the shore, past the travellers encampment at Gypsy Brae and
the steaming saunas at the Brick Beach.

Through Trolleyland though saw none.
Past Pensioner’s Pad and his bevvy of beach beauties on the mud.
That’s the OCP and the Starbank Inn, and now through Newhaven village
There’s a tram at the end of the line, onwards past Ocean Terminal, look for abused sous chefs at the Kitchin, over the Water of Leith.
Past the refurbished statue of The Bard and now the long drag to the sewage works at Seafield. Ah, the hope of the Cat and Dog Home, wait what’s this police incident on the Porty prom?

“There was a fight last night sir, we are still collecting forensics, you’ll have to bypass on the beach”

Back to the road at Joppa, and soon I’m in Fisherrow then crossing the Esk at Musselburgh. Bliss! some grass to run on beside the preening swans before it’s back to the tarmac round the lagoons, at least there’s no traffic. The chimney at Prestongrange beckons me on, back to the road past tanning salons and bookies. The remnants of Cockenzie bounce past without distraction and soon the vistas open up as I pass Seton Sands.
Where’s the pavement gone? Keep an ear out for fast cars. And here is my eastern extent, a quick dash across the fairways of Longniddry Golf Course and south through the village to the railway station. Done.

80km for the week.
