My turn for Coffee Club so some housework was done (but not TOO much), clothes were put past and 'stuff' out away.
It was a brief get together as Y was off to watch Hibs v Dundee and K to do Dancefit in the park. After they'd gone I went into the garden as it was ok for working.
Flitted around doing lots of things. Planted the tatties and the sweet pea seeds I soaked last night and salad leaves, weedkiller the front hard standing, had a go at sharpening shears and succeeded so well I've booked them in to the Edinburgh Tool Library sharpening service next week, filled a bird feeder. I've offered the leftover seed tatties to F next door.
The big job was cleaning out the pond which I never intended to do. It was completely overgrown with water lilies and my aquatic oxygenator. Tried to get the water feature going but it was all clogged so I took it and all to the matted muddy plants out. Unfortunately in cutting back the plants I cut the cable (switched off!) but it's not a big deal as I didn't use it much and the water is no muddy. I had a go at dredging the mud and disturbed two frogs. Cut back roots and threw quite a lot of bits out and then watched the plants I'm keeping with rainwater, for the frogs. Plants are back in but the water is still the colour of melted chocolate. Didn't stop Willow drinking from it before she stalked a pigeon. Pigeon 1, Willow nil.. (Hibs 4, Dundee 0).
It was a bonus to be out in the garden again today. I am getting used to having more time, though that may not last.
Though it's still sunny outside it's cold so an evening in with the TV and my sewing, and Willow of course.
