humble words…

…as a king rides

on a

palm sunday

perhaps you know - the story from - your childhood or sunday school - maybe you don’t - but it goes that - jesus gave instruction to - a couple of his disciples - to go and fetch - a donkey which hadn’t - yet been ridden by anyone - which they did for him - here’s the thing - that one little action - was foretold, or prophesied if you will - about 400 years or so - prior to it happening in - the old testament book - of zechariah here

“rejoice greatly, daughter zion! shout in triumph, daughter jerusalem! look, your king is coming to you; he is righteous and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” zechariah 9:9 (csb)

humble words from an - old testament prophet - more so, humble words - regarding a coming king - who would be seen - for the miracles he displayed - and the peace he would bring - to their world - oh might we see - how true those same - characteristics are today - for his word is unchanging and reliable - let us consider the - possibilities of a humble - king being victorious for us - when we so need - it most and let it lead us to…
