The early bird...

...sometimes drops the worm!  My robins have returned and now that the snow from Saturday has mostly melted, they are having great luck catching worms in the dooryard.  Although this one temporarily dropped her catch, she was quick to retrieve the wiggler which, for some reason, reminded me of the children's nursery rhyme, "There was an old lady who swallowed a spider That wriggled and wiggled and tiggled inside her.""  Unlike the unfortunate old women in the rhyme, robin red breast only swallows worms and they will make her fat and very happy!
