Common Toad

Is not what one expects to be sat on top of the drain grid! I had been doing my domestic goddess act this morning, That included washing  floors, and then popping outside to empty the mop bucket contents into the drain. Just in time I spotted this chap. 

Grabbed the garden trowel and fork and carefully lifted it out and sat it on a rock in the birds water dish. Then went and made sure the drain was covered. Had a quick chat with one of my neighbours, but when I looked back Mr Toad had disappeared.

Rain has arrived and gone, but more expected.

So he just had to be my blip today :-)
