Bench with a view
Up early to head for a decent walk.
I headed up to the Dare Valley Country Park and do the Darren Horseshoe. I always start at the really steep part, because it is quite slippery and I'd rather go up it than down it. I have a track record of breaking my wrist, so I don't want to take the chance.
Anyway it was a lovely walk and I smashed my mileage from last week.
Had a chilled out afternoon of watching the boat race before heading to Cardiff and watch the Devils last home match of this season. It was a playoff game and we were 2-0 up from the 1st game. That quickly disappeared though and we were losing 3-1, 3-3 on aggregate and struggling to get in the game. We came out of the blocks in period three though and eventually ran out 6-3 winners on the night, 8-3 winners on aggregate. Two more games left of the season, can we become playoff winners?
Got back home to then watch the US Masters with Rory McIlroy aiming to win and complete a career grand slam. All was going well, he was 5 up at one point and then had a nightmare on amen corner, losing his lead before getting back to level. He then retook the lead on the 17th, but messed up the 18th and it went to a playoff final. Which he eventually won against Justin Rose. Chuffed for him.
Today I am thankful for:
1. A great walk up the Dare Valley Country Park
2. A great Cardiff Devils win
3. A great Rory McIlroy win
