Loch Broom

A day of bright spells and showers. Breezy.

We spent most of the morning just North of Ullapool at Ardmair. We like the pebble beach there and the views out past Isle Martin to the open sea. It has become a bit of a tradition for us to spend some time at Ardmair on the Sunday before a course at Bridge House Art.

Back to Ullapool for lunch. Ceilidh Place since the Gallery Cafe wasn't open. It will be Ceilidh Place for dinner as we made a booking yesterday.

There were two big fishing boats at the pier this afternoon. One had arrived yesterday evening and offloaded its catch straight into a refridgerated lorry that set off for Spain as soon as it was loaded. The blip is Loch Broom looking over one of the boats.

As we walked along the shore this afternoon we saw a 203 foot, two masted topsail schooner called "Wylde Swan" sail into the loch through the summer isles. Quite a sight as it backed into the pier. It drew quite a crowd.
