No more socks! Yippee!
The Consultant was very pleased with my progress and the infection is almost receded. It will fade and was due to irritation from some of the internal stitches.
“I can see you are walking very well” he said and I am beginning to walk without a crutch around the house. Mainly as I forget to use it
I do use it outside still.
After doing several exercises which he requested to assess the general movement, I was given the All Clear just over 5 weeks since I had the hip replaced.
Now I can also drive again.
I can hardly believe it!
Two new hips in just over 5 months!
Just shows how surgery is so different now.
I begin the Hip classes again next week run by the Physios. It’s people like me who are all in the same boat.
I finished the first ones on January 29th after my other hip replacement.
It’s a 4 week course and so beneficial.

And, finally, I dispensed with the infernal socks last night!! It felt so liberating!
At the moment I am up in our loft room looking out over the gardens where the apple trees around the neighbourhood are just beginning to blossom.
The garden is going to need watering again today and I have two bird feeders to clean.
As I wandered up the garden first thing I took a photo of one of the tulips which are now coming into flower. There must’ve been some light rain earlier, as it had water drops on its petals.
Also, with all the news about the bin men striking in Birmingham and the horrendous photos and news items showing rubbish piled up in the streets, we keep having our general waste bin emptied!
We live in Sutton Coldfield, which is part of Birmingham, (although a certain generation of people campaign for a Brexit equivalent, and to run local services like Solihull! Which is part of West Midlands).
So in extras I have posted a photo of the bin lorry and the one person who seemed to be on his own (aside from the driver of course) emptying the general waste bins.
Our recyclables are not being collected, and neither is our green waste (for which we paid £60 for the year! And are promised a refund! ).
The general waste tips are filling up and it is becoming harder to book slots.
In the meantime, the rats in town are having a field day!
