Giant Thistle

We met some friends at Wimpole Hall, it is a working estate still guided by the seasons, with an impressive mansion and Home Farm. A walk up to the folly was followed by a leisurely lunch and then we headed for the walled garden.

In the garden they produce much of the fruit and veg used on the Estate. They also have wonderful herbaceous borders. This giant ornamental thistle caught my eye.
