Another damp start but it was forecast to improve. I had an early drive to Grasmere and a wander around the village. When I spotted the colourful chairs outside Mathildes Cafe I hoped they would make an interesting blip . . . and you get a view to the fellside beyond.
Then back into Ambleside and out the other side to the garden centre. I wanted a birthday card for my brother and I had a voucher for money off a pack of gardening gloves. I’ve noticed a reduction in stock since Christmas and have heard from 2 people that it’s being sold (or possibly taken over by a national garden centre group). No suitable cards and no gloves. I realised that the £5 on my rewards card might have no value soon so spent it on something for Jane.
I walked down to the shops later and found a birthday card at the Post Office.
