Trixie's Adventures

Duvet Day!!

It's raining. It's windy. It's cold! What a difference from last week.

Went along the lane for my morning walk and got absolutely soaked. In fact it was raining so much and so incredibly windy that I just trotted along after Ann in good dog mode. I didn't bother doing any running, nor did I bother going into the bunny field because I knew that all the bunnies would be down their burrows in weather like this. …..........And then, when we got home, I went straight into my bed where it was warm & cosy.

Ann went to work and when she came home I was fast asleep on the sofa on the little cover she puts there for me. Usually when I hear her coming in, I jump off the sofa and lie on the rug and pretend that I've been there all the time. Today I didn't bother because I was having a duvet day and I knew that I wouldn't be going far for my afternoon walk. However, Ann wasn't cross with me. She just tickled me behind my ears and said, 'Trixie, I know that you like having a duvet day every now and again but you're going to have to go out for toileting purposes.' So we went for a little trek around the field.

By this time, Ann thought that she had hypothermia she's such a drama Queen. Her anorak hadn't dried from her walk to work in the morning and then she'd got colder & wetter on the walk home and by the time she'd walked round the field with me, she was absolutely freezing. She put all the heating on, wrapped a blanket around herself and lay on the sofa for about an hour. I just snoozed in my bed again.

Apparently when the rain stops I might get taken for another walk. Having said that, Ann has just checked her weather app and the rain is not going to stop until 4am tomorrow morning?!!!

Anyway, even though I've not been out much today, I'm such an adaptable little Collie that I don't make a fuss. 'MollyCollie' would never have accepted such short walks. I know that when the weather is nice again, ie tomorrow, I'll be going on big adventures again. In fact, tomorrow we are meeting our friend, Angela, and are going to be walking at least 6 miles. Yay! I love going off on adventures.

PS - It's still raining and it's still windy and my human is still cold (even though we have all the heating on and she's wrapped in a blanket). She's supposed to be going to 'line dancing' tonight but she's not going to bother. And actually.................. that's the good thing about living in a small town as opposed to a big city. Her line dancing class is £4 for a 1.5 hr class on a 'pay as you go' basis. In Edinburgh the cheapest line dancing class that she could find was £12 for a 45 min class and she had to sign up online for a minimum of 10 weeks. …...........No wonder people in Edinburgh are so fat & unfit???!!!
